Planned restoration: approximately 144 ha of grasslands.
The following activities will be carried out at ZS “Kalna rubeņi”:
- Clearance of overgrown grassland edges and stump milling
- Levelling of ruts, furrows and excavations (disking, milling)
- Establishment of pastures and introduction of grazing
- Control of expansive species through restorative mowing and sowing of yellow rattle (6 ha, 240 kg)
- Control of invasive species through ploughing and grazing
- Reduction of soil fertility through deep ploughing
- Introduction of characteristic species (spreading seed-rich hay, leaving uncut areas, sowing seeds on 50 ha)
- Cleaning of ditches
- Establishment of grazing infrastructure (shelters, watering equipment)
